Problem Description:
Import fails with
IMP-00038: Could not convert to environment character set's handle
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Solution Description:
- In most of the cases this error occurs when you take an export using expdp utility and trying to import the dump with conventional imp utility. Make sure you have taken the export with exp utility.
- If you have done any kind of export dump file transfer make sure that you have done in BINARY mode.
- Check any kind of dump file manipulation has been performed or not.
- Make sure your compress/uncompress gzip/gunzip is done properly
